Day 297 | Voice | Open
Out of the frying pan and into an ugly orange jumpsuit. Great.

[His voice is gruff and slightly irritated, but he seems to be shrugging all this off as well as anyone.

He’s seen a lot of crazy shit in his life, after all.]

The name’s Bobby Singer. Guess I’m stuck here with the rest of you hooligans.

[He’s not the ‘nice to meet you’ kind.]

Someone care to point me in the direction of the nearest bar? Gotta admit, I'm still trying to figure out why the hell a prison would even have one, but I'm not gonna look a gift horse in the mouth.

[When it rains, it pours. First Dean and now Bobby? He might even be counting Elena in there, but it's not exactly the same thing. Not at all. Not family.

Sam has a lot of feelings about his family right now. There are memories he wishes he'd never gotten where he tries to kill the man who was basically like a father to him.

But he didn't, and he won't, and awkwardness aside it's really, really good to see him. It's been over seven months for Sam after all. And he knows there's a lot to explain and he's probably getting splashed and salted and cut again, but that's just the business, so there's nothing left to do but reply.]

Bobby, hey. [Not a lot of words but there are some puppy dog looking eyes to go with it.]

[Kids and their fancy toys. He hadn't known the fancy contraption did video calls, too, and he'd probably be a little happier to see Sam's face if he hadn't just watched it blow up an angel and then, presumable, snap his pretty neck.

Still, Sam's voice hadn't sounded like that when Lucifer was wearing him, but he knows better than to get too hopeful about anything.]

That really you in there, Sam?

Who else would... [He pauses mid-sentence realizing there are a number of different people he could be from Lucifer to a demon—if Bobby doesn't remember the protection tattoos—to a shapeshifter to who knows.] Yeah, Bobby, it's me.

It's good to see you. [There was missing. He's had over half a year away from the life to reflect. He's spent a lot of it trying to find a way out, but he couldn't run on that every minute even if he tried for awhile.]

[To be honest, he's not sure good ol' Satan would bother lying, nor did he think he'd end up in a place like this. Fallen angels didn't likely get stuck underwater, after all.

But he's not taking chances, either, and if it's really Sam in there, he'll get it. There wasn't any good way to be 100% sure, but the devil would show his cards quickly enough.]

I'd say you too, but I'm pretty damn sure this ain't Heaven, so I can't say I'm jumping for joy to find you here with me.

[He'd sold his soul, after all, and if Sam was himself and here with him? He didn't know what it meant, other than that didn't spell anything good in any direction.]

[ Ooh. Yikes. An old wrinkly type person. Definitely not the kind of face Damon expected to see when he heard there would be newbies arriving today becase they're usually not so... old-ish looking. ]

I run a bar. It's in Sector 5. [ Damon lets out a friendly little smirk and holds up a bottle of scotch. ] Come on over and I'll pour you a few drinks. [ See, this fella runs the Vampire Blood Shack, but the signage is currently out of sight -- he's OCD enough to have demanded that it be taken down for a thorough wipe down earlier, so it looks like Bobby here won't have a clue.

Aside from the extra blood on the menu, the place looks just like a regular bar...

[Wow. Rude. Not all of us can be young and handsome forever. :|

But looks. Scotch.]

That's good enough for me. Let me figure out the layout of this godforsaken place and I'll find it eventually.

Nice to meet you, Bobby. We ain't just got one bar, we got a bunch of 'em... booze is free too, which is a recipe for disaster when you think about it.

Only if you don't know how to handle your booze. Free or not, I'd hope they wouldn't serve anyone after their blacked out and stupid.

Makes sense. How much else is there to do when you're stuck in jail.

Bobby, like I said earlier. Gotta say I expected a lot more riff raff and a lot less friendly in here.

Yep. A really real beach. I don't know if it's any weirder than the vampires or dinosaurs or the ice rink, when it comes down to it.

Gift horses and not looking them in the mouth, you know?

It's not a real bar. This whole thing is in our heads.

[Does Korra sound a little crazy? She feels a little crazy. She's on the network because, other than Chekov, she doesn't know how to find the other people she saw on the other side of the door.]

What do you know about that kind of thing?

I woke up yesterday. A whole bunch of us did. We thought we were going through a set of doors, and then we found ourselves getting out of these weird pod things. This whole place is a dream.

If you want high end, go to Lyrical or the Winery. I find I do just fine at Devil's Compass. Less singing and... snobbery.

[Like wow, that's terrible all things considered.]

I don't really like singing with my whiskey, so I think I'll stick with that.
