Day 296 — Real MarinaNova — Busted
[ Did you really think you'd be allowed to explore freely to your hearts content? This was never meant to happen and it certainly wasn't meant to last — before long the security system kicks into gear, unleashing a veritable swarm of spider robots designed to encourage and hoard reluctant prisoners. You're welcome to try and escape or even destroy a few, but they'll keep coming in overwhelming numbers, armed with tiny tasers that zap and prod until every single one of you has been sniffed out and brought to the exercise yard.

The Engineers are waiting for you there. You were brave enough to exploit a security breach. Perhaps your rewards will be a one-on-one with the very people responsible for keeping you here? Or perhaps this is just a way to buy time. Either way, you'll be stuck out here until they decide to end it. ]

(OOC: This mingle is for those who went through the doors only. Feel free to mingle amongst yourself or approach the Engineers if you're brave enough! They will have threads for this purpose here: SMITH and MARY

EVENT INFORMATION | REAL MARINANOVA INFORMATION.)

I am. [She shifts, awaiting more questions as she's sure they are to come.]

[ oh they will and they'll probably be the same as the ones she posed to the other. because that's how deanna rolls. she wants to compare answers after this. they don't get this opportunity very often. ]

It's a pleasure to finally meet you. [ it actually isn't, but as this one hasn't demanded something in turn, she feels she can offer this much. and maybe that'll receive some sort of response she can work with. ]

I'd like to know why we were brought here, what purpose we serve.

[ again leaving the "here" part vague to see what answer she'll receive. ]

You weren't. You stepped through that door of your own accord. If you mean the prison at large then you already know why you were brought here. Because you're guilty.

Guilty on whose authority? Who judges what actions we have taken?

That is not your concern.

Isn't it? Every good justice system at least gives the accused an idea of what actions they took have earned them their sentence. And usually the accuser stands against them.

[ calling you people out? she just might be. sure they're given the list of crimes, but those could all be arbitrary and don't mean anything if they don't know what actions those crimes were attributed to. ]

Of course a criminal would think that is part of what makes a good system. What we have is objectivity. Also, the justice system itself isn't really my thing. I'm in the execution business.

[ interesting. ]

Execution of what, exactly?

[ is it execution of ideas or execution of actual living, breathing people / inmates? ]

Implementing the system of course. Or were you picturing me in a dark hood?

I may have been. It's hard to know what to expect in situations like these. I do appreciate that you are answering my questions, as I find myself curious about those whom we don't see on a regular basis.

[ take that for what you will, engineers. ]

Do you mean me or people like your husband?

[ well that's a question and a half, isn't it? also proves they know more about her than she's comfortable with. ]

How about both?

That would be two different conversations I imagine.
