Sookie moves away from him the second he lets her go, putting a table between herself and the Viking. Kissing him had not been part of her babysitting plan, and it was not going to happen again. While it was true that Sookie felt... something for Eric, she hadn't yet defined it and was still too hung up on Bill to truly trust herself. Bill may have been her first real relationship, giving her no personal experience to go off of, but she was Jason's sister and had read her fair share of romance novels - not to mention watched television. Rebound was something that happened and even though Eric was a world class jerk, it wouldn't be right to use him just to feel something like she had just now.
As much as she's loathe to admit it, Eric didn't deserve that. And Sookie wasn't that kind of person.
"Five days," she says after a moment, resisting the urge to touch her lips. Her cheeks felt hot, and were surely flushed. Sometimes, she hated her body for betraying her head. "This would be day five."
