Well, typically you would think to something that's happened, recently or further back. You tell me about it, how it made you feel, why it's important, whatever you feel like detailing for me. I might ask you questions, steer you towards thoughts or ideas, associations even, that you might not otherwise have. My job is to help you find healthy ways of dealing with what's happened in your life. Think of me as an open, non-judgmental sounding board. If you think something strange is happening but you think no one else might understand, or perhaps it's too traumatic or you think you've done something that might hurt someone and you want to figure out where to go next, that's where I come in. I'm here to help. I'm not here to "fix" anything, as if there's something wrong with you. I'm here to be a support system, to give you the tools to move forward.
