[ It probably says a lot about Aidan that he's not lying or exaggerating right now. Sougo really is his best friend, the best he's ever had. He's been there through some very rough times and aside from Helix no one's ever seen him struggle through such low lows — and even with his boyfriend (ex?) he never felt like he could let go the way he can with Sougo. It was cause for tension between them, the way Aidan defended Sougo and his ability to give things Helix couldn't.
In the end, he kind of feels like he got the better end of the bargain.
He doesn't say anything in response to the thank you, just tightens the embrace in a gentle squeeze. ]
