[ They're at The Rusty Spoon in Sector 4, having lunch. Damon had invited Elena out for some comfort food: hamburgers, fries, milkshake. It's been quite some time since they last had a chat. He thought it was about time he played the part of the concerned friend.
Damon knows losing Caroline hasn't been easy for her. And as for him losing Stefan, well -- he's come to terms with the fact that his brother is gone and that he most likely won't be back anytime soon. Liz had recently disappeared too.
He's definitely not holding his breath waiting for their return. People come, people go. What they don't do is stay here for good. Someday, he'll be thrown back into the stabilizer himself. And that's gonna suck. ]
