“Ah, so he does kiss you, then!” he smirks, delighted to have caught her in an admission, wrapping his arm around her waist as she gets into position. It does feel a little odd having her towering over him, but Jack is nothing if not adaptable and, more, he relishes new experiences, so he doesn’t complain but just smiles as she palms his jaw and leans up to meet her halfway.
Kissing her feels different too, and it takes him a moment to realise that it’s because, these days, he’s not used to kissing anyone but Ianto. In fact, he hasn’t kissed anyone but Ianto since their ‘Christmas’ party several weeks ago (though he did make a pretty good go of it then, what with Ianto and Kitty’s mistletoe challenge).
It means he kisses rather more thoughtfully than usual, still warm and open and affectionate, but with more attention paid to how it feels and what he’s doing than his usual gung ho approach.
