Tyki does leave him alone for a surprising amount of time, preoccupied with other patrons (and more notably Chuck,) before he decides it's time to check in on dear ol' Reid in the corner. There's also Kitty to consider, her presence automatically toning him down out of some mix of respect or a desire not to be caught with his hands smashing the cookie jar. There's of course his and Reid's civility deal in the mix as well.
