[Early morning, and sector zero is quiet. At this time most people are still in bed. It's still the middle of the night. And under the cover of darkness, anything wandering out right now is almost invisible to the eye.

Except... for those that see better without light.

Wings, silent and soft, flutter in the night air, stirring a light breeze as Yuuki floats above the tree line. Blood red, the delicate appendages are like that of a butterfly's wings, but much more powerful. For someone as small as her, they are gigantic in comparison to her petite body. They carry her effortlessly from the floating island and back. Night patrol.

... It can get a little boring.

Any movement in the area, and the vampire on the defense force investigates, even if it's just to impart a friendly hello.]

[Okay, she doesn't expect anyone to be able to see through the screen. It's still dark, but maybe someone will play along if they're still up. It's more to see if anyone is awake and wants to talk, anyway.

She's bored and tired, and so hopes so.

When she speaks, it's quiet so as not to wake anyone. ]

I spy with my little eye... something that floats.

[Someone else was finishing up a late shift. He'd been working doubles between regular patrols and dispatch to help fill in the gaps. He didn't mind, as he could easily handle it. This time, he wasn't purposefully working himself to exhaustion. He was being smart about it.

Still, he was making his way through sector zero on his way back to his apartment, and he was peripherally aware of another presence, thanks to his quantum brainwaves.

He paused, glancing about. Not many were out at this hour other than 'night creature' types, and some of them were a bit more dangerous than others, so he was a bit tense as he looked to see who it was.]

[Had he heard her? She paused in midair where she flew. As far as she knew she'd been as quiet as a mouse, if not more so. She recognized him though. Honestly, in her stay here, they hadn't spoken very much.

Not because she disliked him or anything, they just didn't tend to run in the same circles at the same time. A little curious, she watched him a moment more. There was no need to surprise him.]

Tieria-san.

[She dropped down in front of him. Her large red wings sprawled out to either side of her. They dimly glistened in the near darkness, now that she landed.]

Did your shift just end?

Yes. It did. I have been assisting with dispatch, as we lost several in that position recently.

	It's why I was assigned to Sector Zero. Since I can fly up to the Island and check on things. [Though honestly, she was capable of a lot more than just flight.] I hope you're not over-worked. 	I wouldn't say many. But there are some. [And with people from so many different worlds, who could say what another was capable of.] I think it's just a good precautionary step. I would imagine. There are not many people out at night.

[Other than those with fangs that matched hers. Tieria's nightvision might not be the best among Innovades, but it was still better than that of a normal human and good enough to catch the odd shape in the dim light.

Not that Tieria wasn't aware there were vampires on the Force.]

However, I would think boring would be better than the wrong kind of excitement.

[With a one last flutter, they rapidly begin to shrink, returning once more to her body and disappearing within the center of her back.] I wouldn't keep it up for long. Mm... [She contemplates the question.]

My senses aren't. I can see just fine in the dark, hear, and smell the same as normal. But anything outside of that is subject to it. I guess... I'm naturally very fast and strong, so I haven't felt much of a difference in that regard, either.

[A small shrug]

I sparred the other day and felt it more there, than I do on a regular day basis. I've never really used my abilities for no reason before, so it's not something I actively notice.

I see.

My senses are also unimpaired compared to their normal levels. [As they were, for the most part, stronger than a normal human's, not counting the fact that he wore glasses.]

My strength seems to remain the same, and my healing ability is slightly slower, but nothing to be overly concerned over. [His healing wasn't completely an 'ability', but rather an enhancement due to nanomachines. The nanomachines were unaffected.]

I have not yet tried sparring with anyone. [He was a bit curious to try that in a more controlled circumstance. While things had happened that he had been required to fight, he hadn't immediately noticed any differences, but that may have been because he had been more focused on the incident and not his ability to react to it or perform during it.]

	Mm, my own healing abilities are slower, but... I don't feel too worried about my life. [She still heals very quickly. When there are those who are coming in with many different abilities, it is strategically sound to recruit those who have the ability to defend against them if needed. Or the ability to recover quickly afterwards.

[Always logical.]

I have not shared much about myself up to this point, but there are not many here who could use the information back home anymore.

[It had been a small shift, really, and he was only sharing with those who needed to know, like other Defense Force members. But it was a step out from his shell all the same. And a step towards trusting some he had met in the dome and now worked with.]

	I know how you feel. [A nod. Because there is much she doesn't like to share with others. Back home, even though she is at the top of the food chain, it also makes her the ultimate prey, to some.] I remind myself that those on the defense force are unlikely to care one way or the other, except that I can use my own capabilities to help protect others.
