[ there's nothing to gain from feeling so harshly about anna. not here, not now. there was nothing to gain before; it was about protecting jeremy first and foremost, because there were so many reasons not to trust her. she hurt her brother, she fed her blood to pearl for revenge; that kind of ruthlessness is something she knows intimately and therefore cannot forget. not for elena, and not when it comes to her brother. and she sees how caught off guard anna is, how her confessions pains her. (she misses jeremy too and cannot help but feel a softer compassion towards her. she might be the only other person here who truly knows what it is to miss jeremy.)
she can respect anna's answer. that she doesn't want forgiveness or to give excuses. she can understand just wanting her mother back. (she thinks she'd do no less.)
she understands what anna means about not seeing someone coming all too well. ] I'm glad. In a way. Love has a way of... showing people they're not alone. [ and in this case it saved jeremy's life. ]
