Pretty much. [She bounced about. The term itself didn't bother her as much now, but rather how people used it.] There were a lot of us there. Mostly around 12 and up, like junior high and high school. And then there were adults. They were our teachers for the 'extra curricular' classes. We attended regular classes at a high school nearby.
[She gave him a small smile.]
It's okay. We're used to being called that. For some, it's a badge of honor. But, still, it really depends on what people mean when they say it. There are some people who think it's a dirty word. But, we call each other that. Because that's what we are.
Our powers are caused by a mutated gene in our DNA. So... that's the most clinical way of referring to us, I guess.
