[When the feed clicks on it shows Bonnie sitting down at a table, a steaming cup of coffee in front of her. There's also a few pastries on a plate next to it.]

Today marks my first month here. I don't think it's something you particularly celebrate but if I had to celebrate anything, it would be the friends I have in this place. Both the ones from home and the people I've befriended in prison. I think that deserves some acknowledgment so if anyone wants to talk about the good things, come down to the bean crushers coffee place. I'll be there for the afternoon.

That's about it.

Thanks.

I'd like think that they could benefit from it, yeah. But it's up to them if they want to take it on board.

[ oh, good. she likes points. ]

What's your take on it if you don't mind me asking?

That time is liquid, fluid in the way in which it flows. There is no set course or direction in which it must follow. Our situation may not be ideal, and I am uncomfortable with the notion that in one version of the timeline, there is someone posing as myself in my absence, but we must not forget that we are presented with opportunities here that we would not have otherwise.

[ like data. only captain picard knows that data would perish aboard the scimitar not long after voyager's return to the alpha quadrant. ]

Like seeing someone we wouldn't ever have a chance to see. A person from our past, maybe even our future. I can definitely agree with that being a great thing about here.

[ idly, she wonders if her grandmother would turn up in the prison one day, even for a short time. just so bonnie could talk to her again. ]

That being said, I don't like being away from home even if things don't really change while I'm in the prison. Still, most of the people I know from home are here with me so that's a good thing.

I am without my crew. However, I have found suitable, welcomed comrades in the other Starfleet Officers present here. I do not believe I would have had the chance to interact with them as I am now had I not been brought to MarinaNova.

I'm glad to hear that. Making friends in this place is important. [ Bonnie lets that hang there for a moment before picking up on what she said.]

Not familiar with starfleet though. You're on a ship of some kind back home?

Yes, it is. [ she understands that now, how vital positive companionship is. being here has made her appreciate that more than she ever has back on voyager. ]

That's correct. My vessel is presently situated in an area of space 65,000 lightyears from Earth. Starfleet is the United Federation of Planets' peacekeeping armada, of which Earth is a founding member.

[ she listens attentively to what she has to say, eyes widening a little at certain parts. ]

Oh, wow. Furthest part of space a person has reached back in my world is the moon. They've sent out satellites to investigate other planets but that's about it really.

Guess my next obvious question is what year you are from.

There are 50 million people living on the surface of the moon in my time.

[ which likely makes it look a lot different from the moon of bonnie's. craters that were barely visible from the earth's surface are now replaced with the stunning sites of the lights that illuminate tycho city and new berlin, and glimpses of lake armstrong could be seen on a bright sunny day when the moon was still high in the sky. not that she's experienced such sites personally, but people aboard voyager talk, and frequently about that which they miss about earth. the moon comes up often. ]

I am from the late 24th Century -- the year 2375.

Holy crap. [ her eyes widen again, jaw dropping slightly open at the same time. ] I mean, that's amazing. I could never imagine it. You're so far ahead of me. I'm from the 21st century, the year 2012.

Kinda saddened by the fact I'll never get to see how far my world will advance into space and the development of technology. But hey, it's fun to hear about it at least.
