[The voice that speaks is uncertain, and a little confused. She's new to this place and still startled by the fact she's no longer a ghost.]

Hello? Can anyone hear me?

Am I alone here?

[She doesn't think she is, but she's been alone so long and so many times that the idea that's she alone again genuinely frightens her. She'd walked away from Jeremy for his own good, but now she didn't really understand what was happening.]

I'm Anna.

Can anyone hear me?

[Anna's eyebrows arch in surprise. Most people don't know vampires are even real, let alone ask if someone is one. That says a lot to her about the kinds of things Zatanna's probably familiar with, be it from here or otherwise. But how long can she really keep something like that a secret in prison? Besides there's a Blood Shack, so that implies that there may be other vampires around already. Still, she's not used to admitting to complete strangers what she is so this is really uncomfortable and weird.]

Yeah. I am. But right before this I was a ghost. But then there was a spell and I was corporeal, and...now I'm here.

[Which makes as much sense to her as robot overlords and an underwater prison, really.]

[To Zatanna, there were basically two kinds of Vampires. There were Damon vampires, and there were Jessica vampires. Okay, maybe Eric seemed to straddle some bizzare line where she thinks she's got him figured out when he surprises her...but for the most part, it was Damon and Jessica.]

[So far, issues with Bonnie aside (and she didn't even know the details), Annabelle was leaning towards the Jessica end of the scale. Which was a good thing. Zee liked Jessica. The girl had a good sense of humor about her, and knew how to have a little fun. Priorities in life.]

[...er...after-life?]

A ghost and a vampire, huh?

Now I'm starting to think you're just showing off.

[Anna had known a lot of different kinds of vampires over the centuries. She had liked some of them, despised of them, feared some of them, but there had only been two that she had ever actually loved. Katherine, her maker, who'd betrayed her and her mother. That love had died long ago. And then there was her mother, who was now dead -- permanently dead. Unless somehow she managed to end up in this place too. That love would never really die. It was just intense and painful. Bittersweet.]

[But Zatanna's answer once more catches her off guard. Not only is she teasing, but she doesn't sound scared. So either she knew vampires from home, or she'd learned about them here and hadn't had a terrible experience.]

I've led a very interesting life? [This time her voice is a little lighter than it had been.]

Are you -- are you a vampire, too?

In my world, it's just witches and warlocks.
