day 235 | action; ota | locked voice;
[ day 235 begins early and ends late. it's obvious to anyone who runs across her that she hasn't slept well. she's kept herself up or something did and now she's got a lot on her mind. she does make an attempt to keep to her normal schedule and can be found at the clinic for a good part of the day. towards mid-afternoon, she gives up that idea, after having found herself lost in thought for the tenth time that hour. she looks for martha to let her know that she's leaving early and not to take her temperature. the last thing she wants is for someone to think she's fallen ill, though she wouldn't blame them if they did.

after that, she wanders the dome. the library, the parks, the beach, and the athletic complex are all fair game for her stops. at the end of the time normally considered early evening, she finally turns to her communicator and sends a private voice communication to rebekah. ]

You wouldn't happen to know where to get a good bottle of wine or two, would you?

[ it's completely another request to talk with her friend, because she really needs to work some things out and if anyone can help her sort out her thoughts, it's rebekah. ]

( ooc: she can be found literally anywhere in the dome or in the morning / early afternoon hours at the clinic! )

This way. [ she starts down the small hallway to one of the examination rooms and motions him inside. ]

I treat anyone who walks through the door. I don't discriminate when it comes to patients needing medical attention. [ that at least is correct. she's had a great deal of patients in her time and most of them weren't human. ]

Oh, goody. [ He'll walk right inside and take a seat on the clinic bed, swinging his legs a little like he's a brave five year old and this is his first ever visit to a doctor. (It really is.) ] Because I have something I have to confess. Or well -- I should.

You're bound by that whole patient-doctor confidentiality thingy, yes?

[ she eyes him, but nods once, folding her arms over her chest as she waits. ]

Yes. Nothing persona; said here will leave the confines of this room.

[ she's going to regret saying that, isn't she? ]

[ He's definitely given this a little bit of thought on his way over here; toyed with the idea that this might prove to be useful someday. ]

I'm trusting you now. [ Sort of. He'd be very disappointed if Helen breaks this confidentiality thingy because she seems like such a nice lady and it would be a shame to have to snap her neck and all that. ]

I'm a... one hundred and seventy plus year old vampire and sometimes I do things that I don't have to do. [ He pulls a wooden stake out of his jacket pocket and before the good doctor can stop him, he stabs himself in the stomach with it, grimacing slightly as a gross amount of blood stains his three hundred dollar shirt. Maybe that really wasn't such a good idea after all. ]

...a little help here, doc? [ With some difficulty, he attempts to pull the stake out. ] I am... really hoping you can help me before the bots get here because if you're my key to avoiding punishments, we're going to be such -- good -- friends. [ Now if only he'd used a number 2b pencil instead. ]

[ to her credit, helen's only reaction to any of this is a widening of her eyes as he literally stabs himself in front of her. no, it isn't the vampire thing that catches her attention, though that's interesting in and of itself. the fact that he's got a wooden stake with him is another thing she takes immediate note of, but all of those questions will have to wait.

in less than half a minute, she reaches for the stake with both hands, swatting his away as she moves, and yanks it out. she's not particularly strong for a human, but she's got enough strength and training to get it out cleanly and quickly. laying the stake down on the bed next to him, she gathers up clean cloths to blot away the blood. quick healing or not, as she assumes he has that since he's a vampire, this will leave a great deal of blood.

she's not squeamish at all, barely even paying attention to it as she force his shirt up so she can see the wound, if it's still there by the time she gets to it. somehow this feels like something nikola would do for show, so she treats him instinctively, as she would nikola. ]

You couldn't have just told me or asked? Had to go be dramatic?
