Dr. Spencer Reid ([info]thisiscalm) wrote in [info]marinanova,
[before or after! ]
[ He's nervous, no doubt about it. Up until recently he never really played outside of his own home and barely that, but he promised Yuuki to help her out and the melody is easy enough. He's been practicing. The prison itself has grown into something comfortable and in a way, it feels good to show this side of himself. Rarely revealed, as important as it is and that is why it's relatively easy to get up there and take position, slender fingers sliding idly over the keyboard as he focuses...

In psychology, there's a state commonly referred to as flow. The psychic energy expelled is considerably less than expected, making it possible to continue with the same task for an extensive period of time. It's commonly found in professional musicians and although Reid is almost as far from a pro as he can be and still know how to play, he's experiencing something similar. A drive to do better, not for his own satisfaction but for hers. She asked for his help and the longer she sings, the more determined he is to please her.

It's an odd sort of sensation and coupled with the intense emotions the music evokes, he finds himself a little dazed afterwards. Fine, but stuck in a performance high. Feel free to walk up to him as he tries to cool off, calm down and work out what the hell he just experienced. ]
