So that sure was a newbie-centric couple of days. Except most of them didn't stick around. [Yeah, it's still bugging her. No Derek, and the only members of her team were Gideon who still scares the hell out of her and a mini-Reid who she was too freaked out to even talk to. And then that weird other Tyki...]

If some of you got to see your loved ones and all that, I'm really happy for you. Really. But for totally selfish reasons, I... kinda hope it doesn't happen very often. Someone please tell me that's not a usual thing? Because if it is I'm going to stockpile junk food and make plans to hide out under the covers on a regular.

[Anyone who is in the area of the shopping hubs can find Garcia doing some retail therapy and also picking stuff up for her homebound bud, Rebecca. She's trying to cheer herself up and so a small radio is playing some upbeat and danceable music.]

Ummm... I dunno. I've been here a few months and this istime numbero uno. So... how about you give me your best guesstimate and I'll use that to determine how often I want to go all hermit-crab on this joint?

All right, let's put it this way. I've been here since day 15, with a couple weeks off in between, and it's happened around... hm, 3 or 4 times.

Ouch. I mean... I hope they weren't bad for you, though? Just because I thought it sucked doesn't mean everyone would.

It's fine. They've only sucked for me, personally, because I didn't get to see anyone from home during most of them, so... I've found them to be really lame.

Yeah, that's pretty much where I'm at. The people from my home who did show up... well. It just brought up bad memories, since they were from like six years ago at least.

You think we should cheer each other up, or just have a big bitchfest about how this place can seriously be the pits?

Why not both? I like bitching and getting cheered up. I'm especially skilled at the former!

[She smiles, because even when she's in a funk she has to appreciate a statement like that.] Okay, hit me. I'll feed off your expert bitchery.

All right. That's an offer I just can't refuse!

[He clears his throat, not because he needed to, but because that's what he decided was necessary before starting.]

You know what really pisses me off? I'll admit, part of it is self-created, but hear me out! [Not that he needed to tell her to, since that was the point of this.] When I first arrived on that very terrible day 15, I was alone! I don't mean the normal kind of alone that everyone experiences when they are brought here, I mean the without-my-twin-brother kind of alone. Sure, I don't think he deserves to be in prison at all, because he's the one who knocks the stupid out of me — and believe me, there's a lot of stupid that I do — but being as self-centered and dependent as I am, all I wanted was my brother. I didn't care about making friends or anything like that, and I especially didn't care to be forced to live a life outside of the riches I've been spoiled with my entire life.

But eventually my brother was here! Yay, hurray, best day ever! [he throws his arms up and cheers.] Prison was suddenly tolerable, and everything sucked less.

And then we were both gone from the prison at the same time. I, however, returned alone! And everything was lame and terrible all over again, especially because there was a lot of dumb stuff to deal with like warden switching and prison transfers. Sure, I've made some really close friends in the process... But why couldn't I at least get to see my brother for a day? Is that so much to ask? Others got to see friends and whoever else... I've been busting my ass, trying to keep myself busy so that I don't sit around missing him and being depressed and lame every day, but I don't get anything for my efforts! That's what pisses me off.

Oh... I'm really sorry, honey. I mean I know that doesn't make it better, and it probably won't help either that I kinda know a little of how you feel, but I do. There's someone I really need and I don't know what to do without him and he was here and then gone, he's like the thing that anchors me down, and I'm sure it being your twin is like a billion percent worse.

You're so right. It's lame and terrible. And it makes me wanna just pig out on amazing junk food and buy every dress in the boutiques but then I'll be too fat to wear them because I'm pigging out so much.

Yeah... I am probably one of the last people on Earth who would ever want to sit in my bedroom and do absolutely nothing but sulk all day. That's why I have to keep busy. I'm a Hitachiin. It's in my genetics to be super fun at all times, not... keep to myself and be really boring.

[He sighs!]

Even so... I'm sorry about your situation. It's just lame for everyone in situations like ours.

Thanks. And hey, I really think it's awesome that you're doing your best anyway. I know it's gotta be rough, but it's cool that you're not just moping. Maybe you should be my role model, cause I gotta say, moping is pretty tempting right about now.

[That makes him feel really odd!]

Sure... If you consider this something role model worthy. I don't know how much of a role model I am otherwise.

That's okay, I don't think I am either. Where's the fun in always being responsible, right?

Exactly! [Suddenly it's back to chipper Hikaru.] Life is too short to be boring and responsible! You have to try everything that comes your way to gain life experience!

Sample every dish in the great buffet that is life, huh? I can dig it. ...And apparently I'm obsessed with food right now. I guess it doesn't take a genius to make the connection.

But you're right. I've been trying to get to all these parties and into the bar scene and stuff and not just fuss over the code I'm getting nowhere with. At least it keeps me from wondering how will I ever live without knowing who wins The Bachelor this season. My heart's not always in it, but it's something.

Parties are always a good idea... unless, of course, it's a lame party. I can understand that, though. There was a video game I wanted to get back to, but now I'll never know what happens! [Long dramatic sigh!]

God, doesn't that suck? I mean it's enough to be stuck in a fishbowl without having to suffer the uncertainty.

So what qualifies as a good party for you? My ideas involve things like hair dye and outfit coordination. Or coding. But I've gotta be open to new things, like you said!

[He laughs, totally loving her party ideas.]

Those are fun! I've had all sorts of parties before. Tea parties, masquerade parties, costume parties, themed parties, garden parties. They're all fun! I'm sure there are other types I haven't already listed. You can turn almost anything into a party, as long as people who know how to have fun are the ones setting it up.

I love costume parties! Dressing up is one of life's great joys. But I gotta be honest, hearing 'tea party' makes me think of stuffy old grandmothers sitting around a formal table and barely exchanging three words. It's not really like that, is it?

No, no! Not at all!

[That makes him laugh even louder. What a funny visual!]

I suppose you can say it's a modernized version of that -- it's more like friends just hanging out, having a cup of tea and having good conversation with good music. Not all parties have to be big and wild! You would love it.

[He says that confidently! He doesn't know much about her, but he's sure she would enjoy it.]

That does sound pretty awesome. Were there crumpets and all that stuff? [Because that's what she thinks of when she thinks of tea, honestly.] That might be only British tea, I don't know.

There's usually cakes, cookies, scones, and other things that complement tea. If we were to have a tea party here, we can get crumpets! There are no limits to what one can have at a tea party!

No limits... and now I'm thinking of an Alice in Wonderland type tea party. Which suits this place pretty well, if you ask me.

Your version sounds like fun too! A more sane, normal kind of fun.

Alice in Wonderland is always a good idea. We've used it for show before, my friends and I, and my brother and I played Alice A and Alice B! We were cute in Alice's dress, let me tell you!
