[Though she'd used a modifier. She noticed Lacus' language was very careful. The girl struck her as a politician. That fit with being a leader in her world. But in the world Kitty had come to know the leaders were military leaders and warlords and overlords. They didn't use careful language. They said things simply and directly and they acted more than they spoke.
Kitty has never been able to wrap her mind around Lacus. At first she thought the girl was innocent, naive, and maybe not too bright. She was proven wrong, and it left her with a bad taste in her mouth ever since. She just can't relate to someone as optimistic and "bright" as this. She thinks there's more. Something hidden. Issues? Insecurities? Something more dangerous? An agenda?
Lacus passed the psyche evaluation and that was something. Suzaku trusted her. Neil trusted her. And Kitty liked both of them a lot. Trusted them enough. But even with that giving the pink-haired girl bonus points the young mutant continues to analyze her. Maybe over-analyze her. She just can't quite figure Lacus out and that leaves her uneasy. And being uneasiness makes her wary.
Trust was hard where she was from and what she had of it was broken—fatally. She doesn't—can't—give it away easily. As much as she might want it or need it.
She wants a world where people can be like Lacus at face value. She just can't believe it already exists.]
And I'm all for trust, but it has to be built. You can't just throw people together and expect it to just happen because you say so.
Do we even all have common goals? Like you mentioned some people were just in it for the artillery. But some people were saying we were working for Sentience before. Was that just misperception [madam PR rep] or was that happening? [Because as far as she's concerned overthrowing the wardens should be as much a part of their goals as protecting inmates from internal threats.]
