Day 241 | Video | Action--Open Mingle
[There is a very tall, pale, blonde man on the screen. He's wearing dark clothes and his blonde hair is slicked back. He gives the camera a charming smile. ]

I understand we're to be inundated with visitors today. I also understand that a sudden arrival here can be a disconcerting and that often requires a drink. I invite everyone to come have a drink at the Blood Shack in sector four. We've got a wide variety of drinks, both ordinary and unusual.

Come spend your day with us at the Blood Shack. We'd be delighted to have you.

[ The video clicks off.

Those that decide to take Eric up on his invitation, will find the Blood Shack up and running. During the day, a few bots can be found doing some of the mundane things like delivering drinks to tables, but during the evening Eric will be behind the bar and the presence of bots is reduced. The bar itself is dimly lit with small tables and booths places about. There's a dance floor and a stage with a pole at one end. The other end of the stage is occupied by what can only be called a throne, which Eric occupies when Spike is behind the bar. There is also a jukebox that customers can play. ]

[ Peter stays close to Dawn as they walk off the dance floor, his eyes on the back of her neck as they make their way over to the bar. He bites his bottom lip, watching her as she lifts her hair off the back of her neck. Almost without conscious thought, he reaches out, his fingers ghosting over the curve of her neck before he slides his hand to the back of her neck and pulls her closer, dipping his head to press a kiss to her neck, tasting the sweat on her skin.]

[ She's about to start another ramble (or continue rambling) but then Peter touches her, and then he's kissing her. And while she's stiff with surprise for a moment, because no one ever actually wanted to kiss her in public, even Xander, she kind of melts into it after a few seconds. Her hand slips to the side of his face and slides back into his hair as she's' suddenly pressed against him, her lips parting beneath his to deepen the kiss. ]

	[ Making out in public is kind of new to Peter as well, but it's not something he thought about. It's something he feels and needs. The kiss deepens and he sighs into it, one hand sliding up her back to tangle in her hair. [ When the kiss finally does break, mostly because she needs to come up for air, she stays very close, too close, doesn't move from where she's pressed against him. But her brow rests against his. And if there were ever a moment to just let an awesome moment be, this would be it. But this is Dawn. And she has to comment on it. ]

Wow. Like... super wow. I mean in the land of best moments that was the best of the best. Wow. Right?

[ He is totally okay with this development as long as she's not minding some of the development that her position brings. He keeps one hand at the small of her back while the other presses lightly between her shoulder blades. ]

I think those are our bottled waters. We could...go somewhere else if you want. I mean...we don't have to, but some place more...private if--if you wanted to.

[ Give her a second to consider that. Cause moving means putting some space between them. But then she thinks about the rumor mill that might ensue and get back to her sister and she nods. ]

Yes. Yeah, more private is good. Not that I don't want you to kiss me and hold my hand in public cause those are both really nice things. But... for the uber-kissage? More private. And this is definitely uber-kissage.

[Peter leans over her shoulder, leaning into a bit more and snags the water bottles off the bar then straightens up, leaning down to press a kiss to her forehead before he tangles his free hand up with hers, turns and starts toward the door. ]

How private are you thinking? Like park private or...

[He leaves that dangling because he doesn't share an apartment with anyone. ]

	My apartment private? [ The words are out of her mouth before she thinks about it. And she realizes how forward that is. [ her answer gets a big gulp from him, but it's a good gulp. he was hoping for that answer honestly. he responds quickly, before he can change his mind. ]

N-no. No. Apartment is good. Great. I mean...great. I just--why don't we--I don't live with anyone. You live with--with your sister, right? No one will walk in on us at my place. It's clean. I swear. I'm a scientist. I know what grows in dirt.

[ Okay, so it's cluttered with different projects and he's not the greatest about picking up his clothes, but it is clean. His aunt would have a fit if it weren't.]

[ oh it's going to be a mind-blowing night and Peter's mind is currently in the process of being blown. It's all a little much to process, but in a very good way. Her words cause a loopy, goofy sort of smile to curve over his lips and he bobbles his head in a nod a bit. ]

Yeah. It's--it's this way. [ He's really wishing he had both his shooters and access to all the webbing he needed right now. He'd swing them to his apartment and get there much quicker than this walking thing.

Speaking of walking...idea! He pauses to grab his skateboard off his backpack and plops it down on the ground then stands on it. ]

Okay. Come on. Get close to me and trust me.

[ He tugs her hand to pull her up on the board with him. He's confident that with all his reflexes and balance that this won't be a problem. Once she's up there facing him, he wraps one arm around her waist. ]

Hang on. I've never actually done this before, but it'll be faster than walking and I know it'll work.

[ Dawn's mind is rapidly moving at a million miles a minute. She vaguely notices that he has his skateboard out. And her brain only seems to snap back into place when he tells her to get close and trust him. On the skateboard. ]

Oh. Uhm. I've told you before how I often trip over imaginary objects that aren't even there and sometimes even my own feet? Well, I'm pretty sure that applies in this scenario.

[ This is said as she gets on the skateboard very carefully and wraps her arms around his waist tight. She ducks her head, hiding her face in the back of his neck. ] Just a disclaimer in case there's crashing.

That's where the trusting me part comes in.

[It's a little awkward at first but they get started off. Peter takes a moment to figure out how to lean to balance the extra weight, but really they're doing well and clipping along at a pretty decent pace. It would really hurt to crash right now, but he's still confident that he could use his superhuman reflexes and skills to wrap up around Dawn so that they rolled, with him acting as the outside of the hamster ball.

In any case, there is no crashing. Just Peter really liking the way her arms feel wrapped around his waist, the way she feels pressed up against him, her face buried in the back of his neck. It tickles a little, but in a very good way. It's not long before they reach his apartment building. Stopping is more of a coasting to a stop thing as he can't slide and rooster tail the skateboard up into his hand the way he would if it were just him on the board. ]

We're here. Accident free.

[ In the land of places to hold a conversation, this is not the best. So Dawn is content to just hold on for the ride and try to sort through the fluttering of her heart, the feelings she's having right now. She's oftentimes wondered if she feels things more than other people. The Knight of Byzantium had once called her chaos incarnate. And sometimes she thinks that's why she can go from zero to hero or not a hero in point two five seconds flat. It's why when she reacts to things, she reacts big. And now is no different. She's feeling a lot of things two hundred percent.

When they slow down, she hops off and almost immediately reaches for one of his hands. ]

In the land of miracles, I think this is one, the whole accident-free thing. Go us. Can there be kissing now?

[ walking and kissing are seriously underrated things when done together. in fact, peter is fairly certain they are things that should be done together more often. the skateboard is just going to be abandoned on the sidewalk. he'll pick it up later or swing by the shop and get a new one.

since she's still kissing, peter totally doesn't realize for a moment that they're at the door to his building. he's far too caught up in the way she tastes and feels. both hands are all tangled up in her hair, holding her close to him, keeping the kiss deep.

he finally breaks the kiss to take a breath and looks around a little dazed. ]

Oh. Right. Yeah...come on in. [ He pushes the door to the building open and leads her over to the elevator, pushes the button then leans in to kiss her again while they're waiting on the elevator.

[ At the elevator, Dawn's hands somehow manage to find their way beneath his tee, her hands smoothing up over the small of his back and a little higher. ]

So... maybe this is bad timing... but... [ And she's speaking against his lips here in between kisses. ] Does this mean we're dating or... boyfriend and girlfriend...? Cause I've... I probably should know that.

[ The elevator doors open and they both seem to fall in and turn to catch their balance as one unit. Dawn's back hits the keypad, pressing several buttons that light up as the doors close. ]

[ he doesn't even bother trying to stifle the groan at the feeling of her hands against his skin. he's fairly certain he couldn't stifle that sound even if he wanted to. her question doesn't quite register at first because she's still kissing him, so there's some lag between question and answer simply because his blood is rushing the other way. ]

Yeah...uhm...yeah...I mean...I guess I should have asked you before...[ hold on mouth occupied in a very good way ] you're just the first college girl I've dated. I didn't--[ more kissing ] know if that was a thing that was still done.

[ Peter manages to glance over her shoulder a moment. she's tall, but he's a bit taller. ] Yeah, you got my floor. [ And clearly a return to kissing should be done. This time he gets a little bolder, sliding his hand along the bare slice of skin between the hem of her shirt and her waistband, slipping under her shirt so that his fingers glide across her stomach. ]
