Day 241 | Video | Action--Open Mingle
[There is a very tall, pale, blonde man on the screen. He's wearing dark clothes and his blonde hair is slicked back. He gives the camera a charming smile. ]

I understand we're to be inundated with visitors today. I also understand that a sudden arrival here can be a disconcerting and that often requires a drink. I invite everyone to come have a drink at the Blood Shack in sector four. We've got a wide variety of drinks, both ordinary and unusual.

Come spend your day with us at the Blood Shack. We'd be delighted to have you.

[ The video clicks off.

Those that decide to take Eric up on his invitation, will find the Blood Shack up and running. During the day, a few bots can be found doing some of the mundane things like delivering drinks to tables, but during the evening Eric will be behind the bar and the presence of bots is reduced. The bar itself is dimly lit with small tables and booths places about. There's a dance floor and a stage with a pole at one end. The other end of the stage is occupied by what can only be called a throne, which Eric occupies when Spike is behind the bar. There is also a jukebox that customers can play. ]

[ooc: feel free to use this as an open mingle. I've turned off comments so if you want to speak directly to Eric, comment there.]

[He takes the kitty comment in stride, looking a bit amused by it.] Forgive me, boyo. It's a bad habit, but one I've found most people have to indulge you in once you get to a certain age. Is there a name you'd rather I use?

[He takes an experimental sip of the stuff. It doesn't taste exactly human, which he likes. It's been a long time since he's felt comfortable taking blood.]

Eric Northman, and you?

[ Eric can't stand the synthetic stuff, but he drinks it because it's not human and while he's got no qualms drinking from a willing human, he's got a girlfriend that does object to it. She feeds him from time to time, but he also has issues about using her as a food source. ]

Saetan SaDiablo. Obviously I'm a bit new.

[He extends on hand with its long black nails to shake, then takes another sip of the blood, eyeing it critically.]

I don't suppose you have any red wine available to mix with this?

[ eric shakes and nods. ]

We do, in fact. [ he carries a full 'human' bar as well since he wants the Blood Shack to be a place that humans and vampires can mingle safely. He pulls a bottle from below the bar. He takes the cork out and passes the bottle to Saetan, allowing him to mix it as he wishes. ]

I've had several customers mix it with whiskey, but never with wine.

It's an old tradition where I'm from, and I'll admit I'm rather fond of it.

[He splashes a bit of the wine in then swirls his finger above it. He doesn't actually touch the stuff, but it spirals along with the movement anyway. Once it's mixed to his satisfaction he tries the combination and nods approvingly.]

Much better. I've never much cared for whiskey, but perhaps I'll try that combination next time.

I've not tried it myself. [ His kind of vampire doesn't tolerate food or drink ] but I've had it on good authority that it's excellent.

[He takes another sip then asks curiously,] Do you do this sort of work back home, Mr. Northman?

I run a night club, yes.

What do you do?

Its considerate of them to allow you to continue here. I must admit, for a prison this place leaves me a bit puzzled.

[Quite calm and straightforward.] I'm the High Lord of Hell, boyo.

I believe they recognize the value in keeping people busy. It's unique for sure.

[ He quirks an eyebrow at Saetan. ] Pleased to meet you. I can imagine that's a stressful job.

It has its moments, although to be honest the place more or less runs itself, and the stress in my life tends to come from other areas.

You're quite fortunate then, that your job 'runs itself'.

[ Of course, here the bar is much the same. That can't be said for things back home. ]

[A dry chuckle.] Yes, it only took 50,000 years to get it organized properly, and even then we have our bad days.

And here I was under the impression Hell was millions of years old.

[ said with a bit of sarcasm but also as a way to ask a question: is this a 'new' job. ]

I suppose it might be, although frankly I've never asked. There aren't many who would know. But I was the first one to take an interest in it, and the only ruler it's ever had. Its the sort of place that needed it.

[For him its a very old job, one he's been doing for thousands of years now. Someone had to.]

Huh. Interesting.

[ He draws his own glass of blood and takes a sip.]
