Day 241 | Video | Action--Open Mingle
[There is a very tall, pale, blonde man on the screen. He's wearing dark clothes and his blonde hair is slicked back. He gives the camera a charming smile. ]

I understand we're to be inundated with visitors today. I also understand that a sudden arrival here can be a disconcerting and that often requires a drink. I invite everyone to come have a drink at the Blood Shack in sector four. We've got a wide variety of drinks, both ordinary and unusual.

Come spend your day with us at the Blood Shack. We'd be delighted to have you.

[ The video clicks off.

Those that decide to take Eric up on his invitation, will find the Blood Shack up and running. During the day, a few bots can be found doing some of the mundane things like delivering drinks to tables, but during the evening Eric will be behind the bar and the presence of bots is reduced. The bar itself is dimly lit with small tables and booths places about. There's a dance floor and a stage with a pole at one end. The other end of the stage is occupied by what can only be called a throne, which Eric occupies when Spike is behind the bar. There is also a jukebox that customers can play. ]

Really? [ Eric looks completely puzzled, almost shocked. It is nearly unheard of in his world for makers to abandon their children. In fact, the authority will step in if they find out. ]

I do not know where I would be without my maker. [ Granted, Eric did stay with Godric much longer than most vampires stay with their makers. ] As for not turning someone, I've only turned one and that is unusual in my world.

She just did the deed and then went off somewhere. A lot of vampires don't seem to share the bond that the ones in your world do.

[Vampires, for the most part, lived in secret where Rose was from so perhaps that explained it.]

Do you have like a quota or something? Make so many vampires? [Okay, more seriously.] There is a lot I still don't know about how things work in your society.

Interesting. The maker bond is quite profound in my world.

[ they weren't always out in his. it's more of a blood bond than anything. makers can call a child simply by pulling on that bond. it's strong enough that a child could die from not responding to the pull. ]

You'd be surprised in some regions. [ teasingly, but still there are kings who require it. ]

I'd be willing to share if you'd like to learn sometime, provided you return the favor. I've learned a bit from Caroline, but not as much as I'd like.

I would love to learn more and I'd be willing to tell you about the ways and practices of vampires in my world in exchange.

[She has no qualms about sharing details about them, especially to another vampire. Rose had reason to believe that he wouldn't divulge what she told him to anyone else.]

Not everyone knows what I am so I'd rather not talk about it so publicly until I am ready to. That isn't a problem, is it?

	Of course not. My kind lived in secret for centuries before Trublood made coming out of the coffin a possibility. [Eric likes Rose, Caroline and Rebekah a great deal and wouldn't share their weaknesses or origins with anyone.
