[ she has to take this one carefully, giving the man a studious sort of look as she considers what to say. lying wouldn't help anyone but if they didn't know what damon is, her telling them could really upset things. and as wary as she thinks people should be about vampires, she knows good ones exist. despite all of his shortcomings, she actually does believe that he's a good person underneath all of that macho crap. ]

He's a friend of mine [ in a manner of speaking. ] but it couldn't hurt to keep an eye on him. He's hard to control. I think I've gotten to know him better than a lot of people, but there's a lot about him that shouldn't be taken for granted.
