I wouldn't mind at all. [Some of the answers might pain her, but she'll handle it as well as anyone. Lacus is used to grace under pressure, and pressure is one thing she has far too much of down here.] I'll be glad to provide whatever information I can.
[She takes a deep breath and begins.] I first arrived on Day 54. Back then we were in another dome, still underwater, and in some ways similar to this one. The Warden back then was named Sentience who was somewhat more sympathetic to our needs and desires. Eventually, Sentience was ousted by another Warden, Acumen, because the Engineers -- those who we assume created and run the prison system -- determined that he was too compassionate. Sentience was given a body, not unlike the bots you see roaming around, and eventually led a rebellion that successfully reinstated himself as Warden. Many of us inmates helped with the rebellion. But shortly thereafter we were brought here and the current Wardens were in power. It is said that Sentience was promoted, but we can't be certain.
The force that holds us here is called the Dimensional Stabilizer. It brings people from our worlds and sometimes it malfunctions. It must contain billions of terabytes of data, so it's no wonder. Sometimes a person from your world might arrive and be from what you consider the future, or the past. Or another version of you might show up. Sometimes we wake up with new memories from home, and it can be very disorienting.
That's what causes disappearances here. A person can be here one day and gone the next, lost in the dimensional stabilizer. We used to believe they went home, but now it's generally believed that they're kept in some sort of limbo.
[She takes a breath, and waits to see if Saetan has questions so far.]
