On every "date" he's ever been on, plenty of hours are simply spent on pleasuring each other and on feeding. He's always had zero interest in anything else.

There's really only one person in the entire universe he wants it to be real with, and that's every moment spent with Elena. But her asking him to cook her his favorite dish has him feeling somewhat perplexed. Because does he even have a favorite anything? And even if he does, there's the possibility that she might not like it, so what's the point? It'd be easier if she could just tell him what she wants and that way they can both get what they want; she'll have her favorite dish to eat and if she's pleased with it -- with him, he'll be pleased with himself.
