day 223: video;
[ she's actually using the video feature for this post and she's looking... well, what can be seen of her doesn't look great, but neither does it look awful. her arms aren't visible, which is probably for the best, and her cheeks are almost healed. thank goodness for superficial and quickly-healed injuries. either that or she's at just the right angle that it's difficult to see. for those who have run into her lately, she looks almost pleasant and she certainly sounds much better than she did a few days ago. ]

For those who may be interested, Sector 3 now has a medical clinic. It won't replace the hospital, by any means, but I thought, under the circumstances, there might be others like myself who would feel better being cared for by a fellow inmate.

[ at least she knows she'll feel better with it here. ]

I've only received permission to deal with small things, so consider it more of a nurse's station and less a doctor's office. However... [ here she gives a slight pause. this is where things will get interesting. ] I assure you that I am more than capable of handling anything necessary. My experience covers everything from papercuts to burns to complex neurological surgeries and I can take care of any species that walks across the threshold, be it human or something else entirely.

[ she means that, actually. ]

In light of that, I would also like to offer informal lessons. If you'd like to offer assistance or simply want to know more about medicine from the late 1800's to 2011, by all means. I would welcome the company.

Good day to all of you.

[ ooc: info post is here for anyone interested. ]

That's your selling point?

[Scoff.] No thanks. I'd rather take my chances with a bot. At least they won't get curious and take some creative license to go exploring my insides.

[Had enough of that already, his snark is really just covering up a phobia. He won't even go in the bot run hospital while concision enough to protest.

Which also means he's insulting her a bit there...

[ she's had worse, honestly. at least his vaguely-shrouded insult doesn't seem to deter her much. ]

I never said any curiosity would be met with exploration that isn't verbal communication.

[ she may be both a doctor and a scientist, but she's not a mad scientist. she doesn't condone experimentation like that. ]

[Quietly contemplating with obvious suspicion.]

Yeah... I don't know. I mean, I don't know you and I have no real reason to trust you.

[Sorry, he is particularly stubborn about doctors.]

[ she doesn't blame him at all, and honestly with her chosen profession she understands his wariness much more than the average person. ]

Of course not. I wouldn't expect you to trust me without reason. That is absolutely something you should decide for yourself. You're welcome to drop by or we can speak this way or in person somewhere else, if doing so would make you feel more comfortable.

[ she won't push it. whether or not he decides to trust her is his decision and whether he decides to or not, she'll respect it. ]

[The way she approaches this definitely wins some points from him. He's a little surprised to say the least. So instead of downright rejecting the idea he finally nods after some consideration.]

I'll keep it in mind.

[More than anything he's thinking... well... maybe if Aidan were to come along if he needed to see her. Hell, he'd feel better if Aidan went to her than the hospital, that's for sure and they can't always bug Yuuri to heal them if something goes wrong.]

[ she gives him a small smile and inclines her head once in respect. ]

Take all the time you need. You're more than welcome to contact me anytime you'd like. Until then, take care of yourself. [ it's a gesture of goodwill, something left over from her victorian days rather than any sort of "watch your back" threat. with luck, he won't let any suspicious nature interfere with what is truly there. ]

Sure. Thanks. Uuhm... you too.

[He's looking a little sheepish but he'll close the feed with that. And wow he must be sick because he's actually being polite in return! He's still unsure about trusting her because of *issues* but, she did a lot better than most.]
