[What you say matters Reid, but what you don't say hurts more.
Well, he didn't leave, so that's something. But he expected more. More than just silence and attitude at least. At this point Helix isn't even sure what he wants or what he can do. He's at a real loss. He knows himself too well, he might just make it worse if he keeps talking or pushing. Reid almost walked away from him already.
But he tried. He honestly tried.
After a moment of silence stretches between them, during which his expression reflects a little of his confused struggle, Helix eventually just gives up trying to find the words. What's done is done. He's no good at this, never was and it was probably pointless for him to even try. Reid has good reason not to trust him or talk to him. He gets it. It's just clear this frustrates him.]
Forget it. [It's his turn to close off and retreat. He doesn't even know what he's doing anymore. He casts the cigarette butt to the floor and grinds it out. He leaves it for the bots to collect.]
Just forget I said anything. [With that he'll be heading the opposite direction.]
