day 176 [video / voice];
[someone sure is in the hospital, maybe for the day. his head is wrapped up tight in gauze, but he otherwise looks okay. his index and middle finger on his right hand are also splinted, for now.]

...For anyone who had to see what happened yesterday: I'm okay—no one needed to see that broadcast. Sorry to those of you who had to see it, and...thanks to those of you who did whatever you did to bring me to the hospital... I'm sorry to have troubled you.

I suppose abilities differ from one world to another.

...Oh. Yeah.

I made a post a couple of days ago [that apparently no one saw. Rion is privately annoyed] warning the other inmates about him.

His name is Cain, and... I guess it's a little bit of a long story. He attacked me because I killed other Galerians like him, whom he considered his family. And eventually, our ...Mother; our creator. But his brothers and that "Mother"—a self-replicating super-computer named Dorothy—were planning on exterminating mankind, and my best friend was in danger.

He also hates me because I took the role he wanted to be appointed, from Dorothy.

But the role he was given was the role to kill me, so he was also probably fulfilling what he felt like he was born to do.

[ What with people getting settled in and preoccupied in looking for other people, some quicker than most. If it was made within the last 24 hours, then she will still be able to access it; at the least, she knows whom to look for now.

Sasha listens to what Rion says for the time-being. Thanks to her experience with Innovades, she is no stranger to the very general idea of super computers being able to reproduce sentient (if not sapient) beings. ]

Is he known to attack others, or is there a possibility that he might attack others, or is he focused solely on his mission? I ask as I would like to see if there is something that the Defense Force can do to help you, or if there are other preventive measures we can undertake.

...I'm not sure. I think Cain is prone to being violent in general, but I think Birdman's been trying to reign him in. I don't think he wants people knowing Galerians are dangerous. Birdman has a lot of control over what Cain says and does; I broke into their private correspondences from the last dome on my first day here. They have an unhealthy symbiotic connection.

Even with what Cain's done, and even though Cain is more powerful, I think Birdman is more worth the watchful eye.

[ She recalls a rule of the former Defense Force: that a person is not to be put on the Watch List if, (1) they have not engaged in acts of violence against another, and (2) no one present can honestly attest to their being a threat to others.

Sasha sees reason in what Rion says, however, and understands how such a relationship can be dangerous. ]

Are you personally acquainted with Birdman? Does he have a history of being violent, or goading others into violence?

I'm personally acquainted with him, somewhat—he's expressed some hostility since I got here, though nothing violent. He comes from the same world I do. [what a weird thing to say]

He tried to kill me, back home. He said he'd never been so thrilled, when we were fighting.

I can't really prove anything, since he's been acting on good behavior... But someone's at least witnessed some of his dangerous side, apparently.

I understand. At this point, it is only your word against his. Unfortunately, this is not something that I can decide on my own, though I will look into the possibility of employing measures to prevent further attacks on you, if you wish.

[ One of the things that the goddess of war understands is the "human" need to fight one's own battles, and that is not something she wishes to take away from anyone. The most she can do is offer without forcing. ]
