[Well okay then. Korra scratches the back of her neck as she tries to think of the simplest, easiest, least painful way to tell it.]

There was this guy named Amon. He wanted to get rid of all the benders...everywhere. And he had the ability to do it. And a lot of people supported him.

[Korra glances at Asami uncertainly before continuing.]

Including Asami's dad. But she helped us fight him, and we won, and that was it!

[Except not really, but none of it is untrue -- just an extremely watered down version of what actually happened.]
