Jethro... [ Clears his throat. ] He didn't treat Helix right. He'd beat him up over nothin', just... usin' him like a toy. I didn't know how bad it was at th' time, but I could still sense that somethin' was wrong, y'know? I didn't want t' leave Helix alone with this guy, even after I got my wallet back so I kinda stalled for time so he could escape.
Kinda thought that would be it, but later that night Helix walked in to th' bar that I was workin' at. Beaten to a pulp... 'course, I couldn't just leave him be an' after uh... [ Quitting his job to make a point. ] ...convincin' him that he needed help, I took him to this underground clinic I knew of. I'd worked there before as a messenger boy so I knew th' people runnin' it pretty well. They patched him up just fine and again I thought that would be it. We'd part ways an' go on with our lives.
