Apprehension is a response which many cannot help, as their own memories of experiences with the Borg are involuntarily recalled upon meeting a former drone. However, I believe that if many took the time, they would get to know you as an individual and see past the fact that you are Borg.
Regardless of involuntary emotional responses, however, the fact that you were assimilated is in no way something for which you can be held responsible, nor are the acts which you performed as a member of the Collective. You were not acting of your own will - therefore, while apprehension is an understandable initial response, I do not believe that a continued prejudice could be considered acceptable.
