kol > rebekah > quinn?
[ kol follows rebekah without a word.
the question of why niklaus and rebekah are living with a human circles his mind and almost sprouts from his lips on numerous instances, but he bites his tongue, quite literally, in an attempt to see if rebekah allows herself a little slip here or there. they've never needed a human before. as kol is very well aware that alaric - whoever he is, as he's a faceless man to a ridiculous name - is a vampire hunter, he wouldn't be surprised if there were any others, but they've never needed a human for protection.
he doesn't take in the sights or sounds or anything of this sector; he has no plans of staying here long enough to know the ins and outs and best pathways to the batting cages. instead, he merely follows rebekah, notices the way she walks and holds herself is not unfamiliar at all; he's relieved to see this prison hasn't beaten who she is out of her.
he stands before the threshold, knowing quite well there's an invisible barrier blocking his way inside. he doesn't wish to be pushed back from it. when quinn speaks, he turns to rebekah, a smile pulled across his face. he's not quite pleased, but he is amused. he speaks to rebekah, a passing comment that's meant to have her bristle and feel slight shame at never bothering to mention kol unless someone wishes to threaten niklaus with the wrath he's no doubt to bring when undaggered again. (he's always a threat rather than a fond memory; he hates it.) ]
How unsurprising that no one has bothered to mention their brother in passing.
