[action]
I get that. I got into a fight with a guy recently — Tyki — who used his powers against me, and I just don't get how that's any fun.
[He's about to get all serious! Fighting is serious business.]
If I had powers, I'd only use them against others with powers. It's like if a sumo wrestler fought against a guy like me, or a giant played basketball, or a racecar driver drove in running marathons, or if a professional baseball player played in a Little League. They'd probably get bored because not only is it too easy for the sumo wrestler, giant, racecar driver and pro baseball player, it just doesn't quite match up. That's not to say that they're more skilled than the others. It's just that it's extremely unbalanced.
Don't get me wrong; I'm not saying all fights have to be fair all the time. Every fight has different challenges, which is what makes them fun. But what pissed me off about my fight with Tyki wasn't about who won or lost; it was about how he didn't seem to try. I don't like fighting someone who isn't gonna try his hardest.
Using his powers seemed like an easy way out for him, and that's boring as fuck. Using magic powers or whatever seems like it's an easy way out without doing any work to defeat someone with different abilities. I could be wrong, since it's not an ability I have, so feel free to correct me. The only experience I have is from playing video games, and pressing X once or twice was a lot easier than pressing the B button repeatedly to punch someone in the face.
