[ seven of nine is restless to the point of entertaining the idea of offering to repair this facility's mundane assortment of technology and appliances. hardly worth of someone of her skills, but on voyager, there was always something for her to do, some task that needed to be completed. she's a busybody, and idleness does not suit her. nor does participation in extracurricular activities without prompting from others, but in the absence of duty and necessity, she is beginning to understanding their usefulness beyond basic moral upkeep. ]

I doubt even we could make it truly secure. [ which is saying something, given that the two of them could lock starfleet command out of the entire federation database if they wanted to. the technology these wardens possess makes her apprehensive, and she knows better than to believe she is standing on superior ground against them. ]

I am presently in Sector 2, near the computer lab, but can meet you at your location, if you wish.

I find it highly doubtful as well, given that our knowledge of the network, and those in control of it, is limited at best.

That is quite all right; I can be at your location momentarily, unless you wish to seek a location which may be less... monitored, by our captors.

[ Not that even he's certain of any - though, they don't appear to have complete coverage of sector 6. ]

[ which is an unsettling thought. seven had overriden captain janeway's command codes on numerous occassions, and had hacked her way into the hirogen relay station network, taking control away from the hirogen operatives so they could use the stations for their own means. being unable to actively engage a system such as this prison's communications network is as disconcerting as it is fascinating. (the borg would want to assimilate it, they'd want this knowledge and the parts of her that are still inherently borg want it, too. she wishes to understand. ) ]

Perhaps a location that is less... public would be more ideal. [ sector six is coming to mind, but data is her superior and she respects him, so she'll let him decide on their destination. she's past the point of trying to boss around the senior officers, in the name of efficiency or not. ]

[ though it feels awkward and out of place, seven lifts a hand and waves back. it's perhaps the stiffest wave in the history of waving, but she tried and that's what matters. ]

Lieutenant Torres frequently referred to me as an automaton and claimed I was incapable of understanding manners, humor, or emotions. I did not take offense to her words or the Klingon obscenities that frequently followed, for she and other members of the crew had reason for their bias. As did members of other species who took an instant disliking to me because of my Borg implants. I find that... Here, I find that I am bothered by other's assumptions and accusations, because they do not know or understand the Borg. They do not find things wrong with me, because I'm Borg, but because I'm me.

[ and that's... that's new. and she's not sure what to make of the swirl of negative, unpleasant emotions surrounding it. negativity from those in her own universe could easily be blamed on her borgness. but here, it felt like she was unlikable as a person without any borg reasoning. ]

[ she walks past the room at first, then backtracks to its doorway after catching a glimpse of garak sewing within it. part of her now likens the cardassian to herself, able to understand (on some level) what it's like to be suspected of the worst because of what you are and now who you are. even if you've done unforgivable things as the person you are and not the species you're associated with, it's the blame placed on the species and not the person. at this point in her development, seven would rather be punished for something she did versus things that were done by the borg. it seems unfair to begrudge garak simply because he's cardassian. even if the maquis population on board voyager would berate her for showing him any measure of kindness.

but he was kind to her. she remembers that, from when she was affected by one of the glitches and found herself to be more annika than seven. he'd gone out of his way to ease her fears and keep her company. she won't soon forget that. ]

You have superior stitching abilities. [ the compliment is awkward, as seven knows nothing about clothing or fashion or or the art of tailoring. it is genuine, though based on the even spacing in the pattern he's working on. at least she's trying? ]

[Kind? Perhaps, but only for his own reasons. Knowledge is a weapon, and he is still spy enough to want to always have a full arsenal.

Still, he does rather like the young woman. She's human and not human, with some of humanity's flaws and yet detached from them at the same time. It makes her interesting.]

[ seven doesn't usually sit outside of senior staff meetings, but will out of a desire not to appear as rude as b'elanna torres used to tell her she was. ]

We could have benefited from your talents on Voyager. Replicator privileges were rationed and at time scarce, diverse clothing a luxury we often did not have. [ lieutenant paris and ensign kim saved for months to replicate their captain proton costumes. ]

[ it says something about the world (and time) she's from when she assumes a duplicate, but not of the twin kind. after all, ensign kim was technically a duplicate from a parallel reality who replaced the one who died. naomi wildman, too. it was not unheard of, and the borg possessed thousands of records of such accounts.

however, the dome is not her world and to perceive it as such would be foolish and misguided. ]
