[ a smiling, professional face appears on the fed, now that she's gotten the hang of it. Her experience with Stark Technology certainly did her credit as did her training. There's hardly a trace of fear or panic in her voice at all despite how real it feels. ]

I am well aware this isn't a normal prison, but I have at least one question I wish to have answered. What year is it? If not for this place, then for the time from which you came.

[ because the technology is different, the people are all talking rather strangely and of course there's the issue of -- what she perceives to be -- aliens running loose through the dome. This was hardly where she had expected to be today. ]

[ As for Peggy Carter, it should be easily deducted by the video backdrop that she's in the library. She has been doing her homework today as any good woman should. ]

[She hasn't aged a day. Of course she hasn't. It's not almost seventy years later, it's then and now and say something, Rogers. He'd failed to before, a file with her number in his hand and a phone only a few feet away. He couldn't, not then, because she didn't deserve that. Didn't need her past crashing into her future without an invitation.]

[But this was different. He's so unprepared. He doesn't know how to begin. He's grasping for words and fumbling with the communicator before he even registers what's happening.]

Years too late for an apology. [Comes his voice, steady but thick with emotion.] I'd like to try anyway.

[ she had expected rote, barely descriptive answers to her question, a means of gauging the populace and matching a name to a face. She had not expected this.

It was a veritable punch to the gut and she's experienced her fair share of those. ]

Steve? [ her voice cracked, her knees buckled, she could barely gain the breath to speak. Steve, her Steve. Her wonderful, heroic, selfless Steve. She had hoped but... after the days and weeks turned into months, there had been little hope left. She had started to move on, bit by bit, immersing herself into her work.

She had preferred not thinking at all. Except now she was and there were far too many thoughts running through her head, the most important being, how? ]

[ She wasn't ready for that yet. To see him, to touch him, to do more then just hear his voice and see his face on the screen was more then she had hoped for in months. But she wanted it the second his promise skimmed up and down her spine. ]

Right... now? [ she took a deep breath and tried to keep the tremor from her smile ] It sounds wonderful, of course. I'm in the library.

[ although she wasn't so sure she could stay there now. It was closed in and stuffy. She was having a hard enough time remembering to breath as it was. ]
