And he wouldn't try to tell Nakama how to think of her mother either, since he believes that a parent's actions are only a step and that the child still has a choice (which is why he chose to protect the village and kill his clan to stop the coup). He might state that her mother's choices were more for herself, than for Nakama, though, as Itachi believes people act in their own self-interest before any others'.
