SUPER HERO DAY MINI-EVENT
Okay, so Richie is a super-genius by way of a something known on the streets in his world as "Big Bang Gas." Big Bang Gas theoretically reacts to what is called the "meta-gene" in DC Universe, and causes supernatural abilities (like having the power to fly, control fire, telepathy, telekinesis, psychokinesis, etc) or strange physical malformations (body turning into water, growing wings to look like a bird, looking like an armadillo.) Richie is researching the properties of the gas because he wants to break down exactly how and why it affects people. Not to reverse the affects (he's already created a cure for the Big Bang cure), but to study the "meta-gene" itself you could say. AND SO:
Richie will be recreating the Big Bang Gas in Marina to use for studying, but there will be a big explosion in his lab, which will lead to some of the gas leaking out and spreading throughout Marina. Should you decide to have your character participate in this event they will get TEMPORARY SUPER POWERS or SOME PHYSICAL MALFORMATION.
The mini-event will only last for ONE IN-GAME DAY, and you can have it wear off of your character at ANYTIME, as you need exposure to large amounts of BBG or prolonged exposure to small amounts for the effects to become permanent.
If you're character already has super-powers they may not be affected at all, or they can expect their abilities to go nuts (like say, the Kitties could possibly lose the power to phase for a short amount of time?) I'm going primarily by things that have occurred in Static Shock canon or have been alluded to, but given the complete randomness of the gas and its effects on those exposed to it, lots of things can happen.
Currently this post is for plotting purposes and for any questions people might have. What do you think?
