Hi folks! madeline here.

I finally got a break from packing and sneezing out my sinuses to app Rei, and here she is! I kind of doubt she needs any intro, but to those who have been living under the proverbial rock, she's a very, very introverted and retiring girl who shows little to no emotion on the surface, but - well, hidden depths doesn't even begin to describe it. She'll be a puzzle box for your more curious characters to unlock, if they have the patience.

And yeah, I know I'm taking on one of the most beloved characters in anime history, and I'm suitably terrified and cowed by this prospect. PLEASE, BE FORTHCOMING WITH CONCRIT. I do not want to balls up Ayanami Rei, of all people. How embarrassing.

She'll be showing up on Wednesday, so we'll see you then! Reira's still on slow/hiatus until I get moved in and get my internet situation figured out, so we'll probably return around the same time, God willing and the creek don't rise.

Uhuhuhu. Everybody run for cover, Rise Kujikawa (Persona 4, fyi!) is in the dome. She's an idol that goes by the name Risette, and she's ~very hip~ and I'm sorry if she tells you that you look like a magician spat on you in that outfit. But she means well ♥ Bubbly and sparkly and persistent and all over the place 'suuuuup.

This is Keli, btw~~ I know I just brought in Neku last week (zomg 5 characters now, WHAT) but I had reserves for both SO WHY NOT. But, I talked with Kay about it, and she won't be posting this week. It's Lina (Akane, Kaname, Cornelia – for those of you who I haven't played with) with character number 4, Kyon from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. I don't really have another muse of this kind in my repertoire. So please be gentle because this is truly going to be a learning experience for me.

For those of you who don't know anything about him, he's a snarky, cynical teenager that internalizes his thoughts waaaaaay too much and somehow got noticed by a God-like entity (Haruhi), who has since made his life a living hell and has unknowingly put him in situations where he's had to save the world. -_-;;

Please do all of the following

1.Make fun of him frequently
2.Throw all of the cute girls or guys at him so that he can narrate perverted thoughts or just asldkjasldkajsldkj like a pansy
3.Abuse him as much as you want. Just remember that Haruhi has first dibs because he's kind of her bitch. XD

Anyway, I've been wanting to play him for a long time, so I hope I can do him justice. I'm looking forward to playing with everyone. ♥

Hi~ Pip, here, player of Ashton Anchors and Lockon Stratos (Neil).

I'm bringing in my third character, Jeanne Fránçaix (don't worry, no one has to spell it that way!) from Super Dimensional Cavalry: Southern Cross otherwise known as Dana Sterling from Robotech: The Masters.

It will be interesting to have my first female muse in a while, but hopefully I can do her justice. I pretty much grew up on the 'original' Robotech, but when I discovered the original Japanese with subtitles, I just. Yeah. <3

So here I am. Hi!

How long ago did I reserve this one? ^^;

ANYWAY - This is Lauren (Cielo and Deidara mun) with her third character (wtf) Naoto Shirogane from Persona 4. This makes 2/3 of my characters SMT related. I have a mild obsession, I think. :|

Naoto is a detective. She's also female. However, unless your character is the sort that can easily distinguish gender despite outer appearances, she should register as male. She worked in the public eye and no one knew she was really female until she was outed. I'll put up a permissions post if you want to ask anything while threading with her. If the character asks outright, she'll admit her true gender.

She's a little stoic, and probably responsible for half the game's exposition (which would have been a higher percentage if she'd appeared sooner). She's also tiny and adorable and she'll get cutely embarrassed if you point that out to her.

So yes! I'm happy to be able to play her finally.

Casey here, bringing you my third character, Ciaphas Cain from Warhammer 40,000! Or as the Imperium's propaganda would have him:

COMMISSAR CIAPHAS CAIN: HERO OF THE IMPERIUM
(his first name is pronounced "kai-ah-fas," by the way)

Cain LOATHES this title, being a self-avowed dirty coward humble man who really just wants to see his retirement, and commits ridiculous acts of heroism by what he swears are (remarkably frequent) accidents. When he is not facing pants-wetting odds with a smirk and witty one-liners, he is a regular guy who likes regular things, like food, alcohol, gambling, pleasant company, and not having his soul culled by the daemonic forces of Chaos. Marina will be a vacation for him. ♥

His novels are amusing and relatively hopeful compared to the rest of the 40k (a setting which is regularly described as GRIMDARK for a reason), so I encourage people to give them a try. Also, I drew most of his icons because the only other art is on book covers and the cover artist misrepresents him on purpose. So oh god be gentle.

As noted in the daypost, nothing is overtly out of place -- yet. The ventilation, food supply, etc is all working as intended despite the apparent absence of Sentience. As mentioned, the robots do not really understand you and will be completely unhelpful today unless given very specific requests that they are amenable to, such as "TAKE ME TO THE KIOSK."

But there's no point in that request, because Sentience will not respond! :D

March 9th was the day Marina Asylum first started, so we're one week away from our first anniversary... We don't want to get too mushy here, but let's just give you a taste of what you'll get next week: You guys are truly awesome and this game? Is the best.

Oh hey yet another intro post.

This is Char (well one of the two - player of Maya Fey turnaboutmedium, Winry Rockbell cutewrenches, and Willow Rosenberg crayonbreaky) with her fourth character Soujirou Seta from Rurouni Kenshin. (Not to be confused with the very similarly named Souji Seta theleader from Persona 4 who I don't play. Feel free to be confused in character though~.)

Soujirou is a polite-mannered young man from the Meiji Era who always seems to have an amused smile on his face. Due to events in his childhood, all his other emotions other than amusement are repressed. Joy, anger, sadness, fear, and so on? He doesn't show them. Just that smile.

He's also an expertly trained assassin, the Heavenly Sword or Tenken of an organization that wants to overthrow the government of Meiji Japan. He's a prodigy at sword-fighting and capable of moving extremely fast even from a start - faster than the normal human eye can process, at his fastest. Oh and his repressed emotions? They make it rather hard for even seasoned fighters to predict his movements. Obviously this does not hold quite true for opponents that have some sort of psychic abilities.

He also follows a Social Darwinist philosophy - the flesh of the weak is the food for the strong. The strong live, and the weak die. It's kind of his central philosophy in life. He's also quite a follower, though, so it's not like he runs around murdering everyone at random. He's not even armed now! (Relevant keywords are relevant.)

Not that most will know anything about that. After all, he's just a kinda plain, non-threatening boy that smiles a lot, right?

I'm taking him from before his second/final duel with Himura, so all of the above holds true - for now.

Be detailed! "Deire mostly just hung around" is not detailed. But don't be tl;dr! Two comments worth of a small essay riddled with links is tl;dr. The purpose of that section is to remind people what your character has been up to, so that any thoughts about your characterization will come back to them. It defeats the point if it's too long to read, or too short to jog memories.

You'll have one full week to comment, until the 7th. Repeating: All characters who were active in February must do this, unless you are on total hiatus. If your character has only been active for one week, you need to post for that character. If you are on slowatus, you need to post for your characters. If you are on hiatus with character A but still active with character B, you need to post for character A as well as character B. Only a total hiatus for the duration of the HMD gets you out of the HMD.

Respond to other people's comments! Tell them if you think their characterization is right, wrong, just slightly off the mark; tell them if you think their character is so X Y and Z that you've decided to read/watch/play their canon; tell them if you think they as a player need to work on something, IC or OOC. You don't have to know someone's canon to give them valuable feedback.

Everyone is required to be open to concrit to play here! Please speak to the player in question before you decide that they're not open to crit. It helps us, the mods, if we can see what's going on so we can put a stop to players shutting down concrit.

Hi! Ni here with A BRAND NEW CHARACTER. And she looks amazingly like someone else in Marina Asylum! Yes, I'm talking about Oppositio Ishtar of Sailor Moon, an EVIL SAILOR VENUS...Sort of. Basically she's part of a group of people from the future who look like the sailor senshi that wants to change destiny and destroy the known world as we know it. Not that Ishtar sees that what she's doing is bad. Or....much of anything really because she's an idiot.
