[ Activity : January : Follow-up ] & [ HELP ] & [ On Accidental Posts ]

MULTI-PURPOSE ANNOUNCEMENT! There's a lot to cover this time, so bear with me, and we're sorry for the long uncut post.
Part 1: The Activity Check Results
January activity check is over! Please go back there and offer crit, praise, plotting and anything else you think players should get in on. We've had several last-minute entries, and they deserve feedback, too!
Characters who were missed this time include:
Chuck | Chuck
Code Geass | Nunnally
Criminal Minds | Reid
D. Gray-man | Earl
D. Gray-man | Lavi
D. Gray-man | Timothy (hiatus)
Fullmetal Alchemist | Ed
Fullmetal Alchemist | Russel
Katekyo Hitman Reborn | Tsuna (hiatus)
Katekyo Hitman Reborn | Lambo
Kingdom Hearts | Kairi
Kyou Kara Maou | Murata
Okami | Amaterasu
Ouran HSHC | Honey
Pandora Hearts | Eliot (hiatus)
Ranma 1/2 | Ranma
Tsubasa | Kamui
Yami no Matsuei | Hisoka (hiatus)
Italics mean that these characters have missed ACs in the past. Continuing to miss ACs may result in expulsion from the game. To clarify the AC requirements, the game rules have been edited to be clearer about who is exempt.
If you're on this list mistakenly, then leave a comment and we'll fix it. If you're on this list rightfully, then don't forget about us! We miss you when you're not active, and missing two activity checks in a row is a presumed drop. Feel free to apologize/explain/etc in the comments here, and we'll strike you off the list.
We have also missed Haruhi (Ouran), Guybrush (Monkey Island), and Szayel Aporro (Bleach) for the second time, and they will be dropped. Debitto (D. Gray-man) and Ken (Weiss Kreuz) will also be dropped, with apologies to the players, who have been on hiatus for some time. If the players return, they are totally welcome to reapply.
Part 2: The Taken Page
Your mods and their administrative assistants have discovered that they do not communicate enough when doing routine maintenance to the community! It has recently come to our attention via several confused but helpful players that the taken page is missing some characters! This is probably due to overenthusiastic editing of the taken page: two people tried to edit at the same time, one ended up working with an old version of the page, and content was lost.
In the future, we will be more careful to tell one another when we are working with entry content! However, for now we are definitely missing some characters. You are especially vulnerable if you apped during January.
Please help us, your poor mods. Check Taken Page A-K and Taken Page L-Z to make sure all your characters are present and accounted for. If they are not, please submit your information again!!
VERY SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE.
Part 3: About Accidental Posts
We have had a plague of accidental posts recently. Some of them are reasonable, and this post is absolutely not about anyone in particular, but it seemed like it was getting out of hand and we just wanted to advise against it.
First of all, there's no reason why communicators should just turn themselves on! If you can't explain why the communicator turned on (falling onto it, fumbling with it, golem chewing on it) reconsider making an accidental post.
Second of all, it's a little too convenient how communicators always seem to turn on when the character has something important to say that they would never want anyone else to hear. Accidents are a great way to get your character to do something that would be OOC without making them OOC! But please try to avoid doing this. The vast majority of accidentally posted things would be completely meaningless, so if you must do an accidental post, don't make it the one moment he speaks aloud the one secret he's been keeping from everyone.
New arrivals are still welcome to use accidental voice and video posts -- this would naturally result from waking up in a strange place and poking at a strange thing on your head. New arrivals are, however, discouraged from making their first post an accidental voice post where they don't realize they are broadcasting how much they hate living a secret double life because they are a superhero.
