Jane repeated his name in her mind in an attempt to memorize it as she had read that was a good way to avoid forgetting names. It always so embarrassing to forget someone's name so shortly after meeting them. She also made note of his floor and decided that explained why she hadn't seen him around before. The redhead had few reasons to head up to the tenth floor that held the more expensive apartments although now the curious part of Jane had her thinking she ought to least check out the upper levels. Couldn't hurt, right? "Nice to meet you too Chris", Jane replied, watching him with interest before turning back to finish loading her clothes in the washer. Once nice thing about her wardrobe was that she didn't have to worry about separating light and dark clothes as it was all dark. Or maybe that was a bad thing. Jane frowned down at the clothes, debating that sentiment and wondering if she should get more colourful clothes when Chris spoke again.
"Yep. It's either laundry day today or naked day tomorrow", the redhead joked. "And I don't really think nudity's a good idea during the winter unless you enjoy getting sick. I've never found it to be much fun myself", she added as she poured in a cap full of detergent. "Want one?" Jane repeated, a little confused since she hadn't been looking when he asked but she glanced up and realized what he meant. "Oh, an egg roll. Yeah, sure". Jane grinned, "I was wondering what smelled so good. Just one sec". Closing up the lid, Jane slipped the coins into the slot and quickly turned on the washer. Brushing her hands against her jeans, Jane headed over to snag one of the egg rolls as she was never one to turn away free food. "Thanks".
Jane held on to fried roll gingerly and carefully took a bit, trying not to burn her mouth. After swallowing the tasty bite, Jane spoke again, "Oh that's good. Can I--" she began before correcting herself, "I mean, may I ask where you got them?" Jane rolled her eyes with a chuckle, "At least that's one thing I remember from school. It's 'may'. I've had enough teachers tell me so". Again, more unnecessary chatter but that was Jane, little miss 'say-whatever's-on-my-mind'. "So, have you been living here long?"
