There were a lot of things in this place that were going to take some serious adjusting to, Shannon had come to realize. Between living with a complete stranger who also happened to be English and male and then angels and demons and God only knew what else (vampires, really? Please), it was an awful lot to take in. She'd thought about going to the spa and getting a massage but decided if she was going to do that, she was going to go all out and she'd spend an entire day in there rather than an hour or two. So, instead, she headed to the billiard room for a drink. Or twelve.
After a Sex on the Beach, Shannon got herself a second cocktail, left her towel in a lounge chair, and sat at the edge of the pool. Slipping her feet into the pool, Shannon leaned back on one hand, the other holding her glass. The Rabastian guy, or whatever, had suggested this was what she wanted. In a way, it was. She certainly didn't want to spend the rest of her life - or worse, die - on Craphole Island, but this wasn't exactly what she had meant when she'd been thinking how much she'd wanted to get off the Island. She'd pictured going back home, looking up Anna and announcing that she hadn't died on the plane and seeing if they could find an apartment. She'd considered letting Sabrina know that Boone hadn't made it and not exactly divulging that the crash wasn't what killed him. Now, she'd never be able to do any of those things and maybe...just maybe Rabastian was actually right about her. Maybe this was the best place.
Closing her eyes and sighing, Shannon sat up straight and took a drink before taking her head in one hand. No way. No way was that kidnapper right. God, she really must be going completely insane if she was thinking that... But, maybe she did need to make friends and integrate. She really needed to hang out with Dom more...at least Dom knew what it was like to be stared at; to be impossibly attractive to men. She understood that it was nice sometimes and annoying most. Shannon had never met anyone who understood like Dom must, not even Anna. But in the mean time, she needed to meet other people. ...and at some point, she ought to tell Sawyer that she was pretending he was her boyfriend to keep Sirius at bay, or that could get pretty ugly pretty fast...
