He had to answer for the oxygen tubes removal, then deal with all their poking and prodding until they were satisfied. Confused still but satisfied enough to leave him be. According to them he was going to be spending the rest of the day and night in the ward before being transferred tomorrow to a different room now that he was awake and all. He really wanted to leave though, be back in his own clothes and not scrubs. But he did his best not to protest, even promising to stick to dumb tubes back in his nose if he felt like he was short of breath.
Finally they left and a quiet settled in the room. He briefly thought of calling Ellie because of that odd separation anxiety he was feeling. But that was quickly squashed when he realized his phone was missing. His clothes were in a bag labeled patient belongings in a small side table. He poked through it but his phone wasn't there either so he shoved the bag back where it had been and settled against his pillows with a huff. At least the nurses had shown him how to adjust the bed so he could sit up easier.
