Derek leaned in close and there was a slight uptick to Stiles' heartbeat, but there was no scent of fear. And he even smirked a little. "Yeah, okay. I'll believe it when I see it," Stiles replied, easy as you please. He wasn't scared of Derek. Not anymore. And the...moments they had up in the loft. Those tense, odd moments where they just looked at each other, unsure of the other person, or if they even wanted to figure them out.
Stiles climbed into the Jeep, closing the door and buckled up. Shoving the key into the ignition, Stiles turned the engine over, sitting there for a minute to let the engine heat up. He turned the heat on, cursing softly as cold air blew from the vents. A few minutes more of sitting in near silence, it was finally warm enough and Stiles shifted the Jeep into gear and took off back towards the Residential District.
Stiles glanced over at Derek when he spoke, looking at him for a long moment then nodded. "Yeah, no, that's fine. I'll take the blankets off your bed, too. Since I'll be sleeping on the couch." Yeah, like that's a good reason. Stiles returned his gaze to the road ahead of them thankful that the roads were clear, at least. He'd be freaking terrible if the roads were super snowy. A few minutes more and he glanced over at Derek, just for a second. "So, uh, being roommates, this means what's yours is mine, right?" A beat. "Like, if I wanted to read all of the books you owned, you'd be fine with it as long as you weren't reading it at the time?"
