Ellie trembled a little, and flinched again, when he said her name. She hissed softly at the feel of the paper towels against her palm. Ellie glanced over at him, a haunted expression on her features. He smiled and her chest squeezed. How could he smile at a time like this? How could he smile at her when he knew what she's done?
Green lights flashed and swirled around their hands and when he'd pulled his hand away, her palm was free of cuts. Ellie nodded a little. "I just..." she panted softly, shaking her head a little. She didn't want to put it into words. She was afraid to. "There's glass everywhere," she muttered, not moving from where she was standing.
