Ashla
I was hoping you'll join in on the game of football on Thursday. It's tradition for my ohana to play a game before Thanksgiving dinner.

I'm afraid that I don't know what football is. Unless it's exactly as the name implies.

It's a sport. We throw a ball around and try to score. We'll teach you how to play.

Then why is it called football? If you throw the ball around.

You know, I never thought of that. There is some kicking involved. The English would argue that it's not football. They call soccer "football".

And this soccer that these English call football? Do they kick the ball around?

The English version of football has more of kicking the ball. You're not allowed to use your hands with their version of football.

It likely sounds more complicated than it is. It's an easy game to get the hang of.

It sounds as though their game has the more accurate name usage, if it is played entirely by using their feet.

Well, I am willing to learn. It sounds enjoyable.

It does. There's always going to be the debate on what is the true football for many years to come, I'm sure.

Great. I look forward to it. It'll be a lot of fun. It's an easy game to pick up.

It definitely sounds like that. I look forward to learning it, and to meeting your - ohana, you said?

That's right. Ohana is Hawaiian for the word family.

Then I look forward to meeting your ohana. It is good that you have family here.

I think you'll like them.

I am glad that they are here but at the same time, I don't like that Gracie is here. This place is no place for a kid.

Better that she's with you, I think, then all alone. Her place is with you.

This is true. Danny would be going crazy if he didn't have her here. There's enough of us here to protect her but I still don't like that she is here.
