It had taken her longer then expected to find out where Jack lived. She had gone to the records office the day after they had met to find out more about him. The stubborn old woman who worked behind the desk had completely road blocked her in her pursuit for enlightenment, but she was not so easily deterred when she had her mind set on something. She waited, stopping by the office once a day till she found someone working there who could be more easily swayed by her charms. It was three days later when she walked into the office and found a young man named Eric. He was more then happy to help her with anything she wanted. When she had the address in hand she kissed Eric on the cheek for payment, she was pretty sure she would never see him again, but he seemed sweet.
Now that she was armed with his address she had to work on stage two of her attack plan. Cookies. This too was a bit harder then she had first thought it would be. She was determined to make fresh home baked chocolate chip cookies for him. Who could say no to cookies, right. The problem was that she really had very little baking experienced. Her first few batches were completely black. She ended up having to return to the little food mart two times for more ingredients before she made a batch she could call edible.
She decided to she really needed to go all out, and put together a complete house warming basket for him. Smiling as she arranged it, filling it with things she thought he would like. She thought it would be cute to get him a bottle of Jack Daniels, but she also decided to get him a bottle of Bushmills 21 year single malt, so her had something to choose from. Also the nice man at the liquor store told her it was the much better whiskey, she felt he would know better then her. Once she had the bottles in place she added her cookies, two pint glasses, and an Archie comic she had picked up. When she was all done she took a step back and looked over the basket happily.
Now that it was all in order she went to get dressed for the day. She thought it would be less distracting if she wore normal clothes today instead of her jogging outfit. So she put on some jeans and a plain green tank top. She let her hair down, but fixed it with a little wave. It was now time to go and make a new friend, weather he liked it or not.
It was a few minutes before eleven when she knocked at his door. She hoped she had waited for late enough in the day that she would not disturb his morning routine, she hated when people did that to her. Eleven was late to her, the day was almost half over really. So she was sure she wouldn't get interruption anything too important. She knocked again, just in case he didn't hear the first time.
