That reaction, too, Keith was used to. It saddened him a bit that people did tend to be a little intimidated by him, but he supposed he could understand it. Still, he would never hurt anyone, which is why he refused to even use any of his magic other than the healing kind. Also, of course, why he wanted to be a doctor. He understood that it wasn't personal, though, and didn't take offense.
He was pleased, however, when the smaller man returned the handshake. He nodded, even laughed softly. "I don't think anyone is too good with the standing and awkward looks thing." He was glad that his question hadn't scared the other man off, though. He'd become better with talking to people in the time he'd spent looking and asking around after Justin, but he had a long way to go, and was naturally introverted to start with.
The request was reasonable enough. Keith nodded, started dragging his bags to the doors that led into the bedrooms. He peered in both of them, then turned to Tanner and waited for him to finish reading. "Do you have a preference?" To Keith, the rooms looked the same, completely unremarkable. But if Tanner wanted one in particular, that was fine with Keith. He looked the younger man over from head to toe, trying really hard not to be creepy or overtly check him out, and then shrugged. "It doesn't matter to me. I'm just going in this." He was wearing simple jeans and a t shirt, nothing too fancy. he didn't care too much about clothing. "...Where do you want to go? I'm completely new to the campus. I have no idea what the options are."
