Keith knew that he'd taken a risk in basically coming out to this young man. He didn't think that Tanner would be the sort to make fun of him for it, or be disgusted, but, at the same time, many otherwise completely reasonable people had an irrational aversion to it. So it was definitely a risk. He had to live with this guy, after all, for quite some time, so maybe he should have been a little more careful, sounded him out more about that sort of thing. But he'd just wanted Tanner to know, for some reason.
He felt immediately guilty, though, when Tanner responded so positively. He'd been expecting the worst, and instead, the young man was admitting to him that he had some of the same feelings about men. Now, Keith knew very well that this didn't mean that Tanner could be interested in him. But it was nice to know he at least didn't have to hide who he was around the beautiful young man.
"Occasionally, I'll find a woman attractive, but...it's a rare thing." He admitted softly, and then the waitress was there. It wasn't in Keith to be rude to the girl, who was, after all, just doing her job, but he remained quiet as she delivered the food, and, as soon as she was done, his attention was completely back on Tanner. "I've dated a couple of men, but it didn't work out. They couldn't understand how I was so focused on my grades." And, of course, there had been one other thing that Keith had been busy studying, his healing magic, but maybe he'd shocked Tanner enough for today.
He smiled at the offer and reached over to take a prawn from the dish. "Poor girl. She had no way of knowing what we were talking about. I wonder if she would have been shocked, if she had?" He nibbled on the prawn, then drank some water. "Tanner?" He spoke quietly, and it was an extreme act of bravery that he did at all, considering how nervous he was. "I know you haven't dated before, but... do you know what sort of guy you're attracted to, yet?" It was a bold question, and really none of his business, but he was curious.
