Keith set the bags he'd been carrying down and accepted the smaller man's hand. He was incredibly perceptive, and saw the look that the other man gave him. He had no real way of knowing what it was about, though, so he pretty much assumed it was simply because Tanner, while tall, was a great deal smaller than Keith. Besides, someone as tall as Keith was pretty used to having people stare at him. So he didn't think much about it.
"Hello, Tanner." He gave him a rare little smile and shook Tanner's hand. Despite how quiet Keith was, his handshake was firm, speaking of a sort of self confidence. "Yes, it looks like we are." He glanced around the apartment, but decided he could explore later. First, he wanted to learn about this man with whom he could be sharing rather close quarters for quite awhile.
"Look, I'm not really good at this sort of thing, but do you want to get some dinner or at least coffee?" He spoke quite suddenly. "It's just that I want to get to know you, and if we just stand here looking awkwardly at each other, that will probably take longer to happen." It probably wasn't exactly the sort of thing that was usually said, but it was sincere, at least.
