Jack looked up as it started to come down, gritting his teeth as he ran faster. He was on track to get it before it hit the ground, and he could hear the dull roar of the satyrs behind him trying to boo him off of the opportunity to catch it. Jack would not be deterred by it, instead their booing only made him stronger, caused him to run a little bit faster. He could see someone sitting against a tree up ahead, but they were going to just have to fucking deal with him because if he paused at all, to yell or warn them, there was no fucking chance in hell he was going to make it to his destination, so without much forewarning Jack burst forward in an intense run to make that last ditch effort to recieve.
Jia for her part, would hear the yelling perhaps from a distance, but it was too far away for her to actually really tell what it was about. On the other hand, she would probably hear some sort of strange whining in the distance, as if something squealing somewhere. That, of course, would be the only real precursor to her book colliding with Jack's knee, sending it flying one way or another as he bolted past her and then leapt. He was almost graceful in the air as his hand came up, sparkling with iron mesh in the sunlight, and wrapped around something that was falling from the sky towards the ground.
As his hands wrapped around it, the squirrel gave a loud shriek of protest as he slammed back first into the ground, holding it up off the ground to prove that he had done it, as Satyrs came within 50 yards of him, looking at him in disbelief.
"oh.... FUCK... YES. That's right you fucking goat fuckers, how about this, eh?" he said, pointing to the squirrel in his hand that was viciously trying to bite his mesh iron glove. In the distance, one of the Satyr's threw down his own glove that looked similar and swore. "YEAAAAAH Bitch." Jack said as he stood up, watching as the Satyr's stormed off. He knew where they lived, and would collect later. He knew they'd pay up too because he happened to know where the best chronic on campus to be had was.
Meanwhile, inspired by the rapid movement of his arms, the squirrel was trying harder to bite him as Jack did a touchdown dance, yelling now and again as his body made the funny movements, before looking up at his hand. "Oh, don't think I didn't learn from last time you little furry mother fucker. No more squirrel bites for me... and now, it's SPIKING TIME!"
Raising his arm high above his head he prepared to give the squirrel a true superbowl spike before he noticed Jia, who he'd practically ran over. Holding the still complaining squirrel over his head he paused a little, and blinked. "Oh, hey Suzy..." he said casually.
