Marie laughed. It was interesting to hear about other people's lives. She often forgot how nice it was to talk to someone because she spent so much of her time alone. And Kay's face was funny. "Some of them are, but I think most people generally have good intentions."
"That sounds really beautiful. I have only met a couple of sirens in the past. You're lucky you only have feathers. I think you would be more noticeable with talons or a beak." She admitted. "My parents are average. My dad tends to be sort of flighty, so we moved around a lot when I was a kid. But they are both pretty laid back. We got away with a lot of pranks and stuff when we were kids."
She shrugged slightly, spooning more soup into her mouth and settling her book on her lap so she could free up her other hand. She used it to peel some of her roll off and balled it up before putting it in her mouth. "I'm sure you'll do fine at your try-out. It would be good for you to get on, we won regionals last year." She returned the girl's smile and finished off her soup, returning her attention to her roll. She leaned back in her chair. "What did you decide on for your major?"
