Desmond had been incredibly kind to her and she found herself walking towards him again with his duster now in her arms. "I'll be honest," Raina spoke in a small voice. "I can't say I know much about what exactly a Dhampir is, though it does explain why you can speak with so much.. intelligence. I haven't met a lot of people like you."
She bit down on her bottom lip when she was just a few inches behind him. For a moment, her fear took a hold of her. She could picture him whirling around before she could blink, clamping rock hard hands against her arms and bearing his glistening white fangs at her. She could hear herself gasp, just a quick inhale of breath to ready herself for a scream she could never manage when his bite took her neck and stole that breath. But the seconds past and he never did turn.
Raising her hands with the jacket, Raina set it over his shoulders and then put her hands against his back to feel the strength of his body against her touch. He'd been so kind all evening. If he had wanted to harm her, surely he could have done it by now. So she took a chance. Maybe a dhampir and a vampire weren't the same? There was only one way to find out. "So, what you are.." She began, voice keeping it's easy tone, "you said you drink animal blood. Does that mean you don't thirst for human blood?"
It took a lot of restraint to pull herself together and slowly walk around him. She let her fingers drag against his back and then his arm so she could stand in front of him. "Can you smell my blood?" But that wasn't exactly what she was curious about.. so she just said it. "Do you want my blood?" It wasn't an offer, just an inquiry.
